The Nerazzurri got the better of the visitors thanks to a spectacular goal from Dimarco, who surprised Turati with a shot from beyond the halfway line in the 46th minute. They doubled the score thanks to a penalty converted by Calhanoglu in the 51st minute after a foul by Monterisi on Thuram, which earned them a counter-takeover from Juventus and first place in Serie A.
Frosinone did not give up and came close to scoring with Cheddira, who hit the post, and with Marchizza and Ibrahimovic, stopped by Sommer. Inter now have a two-point lead over Juventus, whom they will face when they return from the national team break in a direct clash for the title.
Di Francesco’s side have shown they can play on an equal footing with the Italian champions, but will have to try to make up points in the fight for safety.

SSC Napoli v Empoli FC: The surprise of the day was Napoli’s defeat at home against Empoli, who scored the only goal of the match in the 78th minute with their striker Mancini. Napoli dominated the ball possession, but failed to create goalscoring chances. Empoli defended neatly and struck on the counter-attack, bringing home three precious points for salvation.
A fair draw between Udinese and Atalanta, who faced each other openly, with many actions and chances on both sides. Udinese opened the scoring in the 32nd minute with Wallace, who took advantage of a mistake by the Atalanta defence, while the Orobici equalised at the end of the match with Da Silva. In the final, both teams looked for the winning goal, but without success.
It was a deserved victory for Fiorentina, who showed good play and more determination than Bologna. Fiorentina unlocked the result in the 18th minute with Bonavenura, who scored a great goal from outside the box. Bologna equalised in the 36th minute with their midfielder Zirkee on a penalty kick. In the second half, Fiorentina found the winning goal in the 63rd minute with Gonzalez, who beat the opposing goalkeeper with an angled shot, also on a penalty kick.
The derby of the capital ended without a goal, in a balanced and hard-fought match, but without great emotions. Lazio had more possession of the ball, but could not break through Roma’s solid defence. Roma had more scoring chances, but were not precise in front of goal. The final result did not satisfy either team, who remain at a safe distance from the top of the table.
Milan in crisis and minus 8 and Juventus just two points behind Inter
Lecce vs. Milan: A 2-2 draw that satisfied no one. Lecce played with courage and made the most of their chances, while Milan showed some difficulties in defence.
A narrow victory for Juventus, who scored two goals in the first half and then managed the lead. Cagliari tried to react, but it was not enough. For Juventus, the next round will tell the real Bianconeri ambitions.
In Monza Turin a 1-1 draw that leaves a bitter taste in the mouth for both teams. Monza dominated the first half, but failed to close the game. Torino equalised in the second half with a lucky goal.
