The 34th Serie A fixture opens with a tense match at the Stadio Benito Stirpe: Frosinone v Salernitana. Both teams are fighting for salvation, but the situation is critical for Salernitana, who risk aritmetical relegation.
Frosinone, after three months of abstinence from success, broke through and overwhelmed Salernitana with a net 3-0. The goals came in the first half: Soulé and Brescianini scored the goals that steered the match. Former Salernitana player Zortea closed the scoring in the 85th minute.
The Ciociaria team immediately went on the attack and in the tenth minute they won a penalty: Sambia held Valeri, and the Argentine converted the penalty. Soulé found the goal he had been missing since 3 February and Milan. Salernitana, however, failed to react and conceded the second goal in the 25th minute, when Brescianini exploited a defensive error.
Second half of the match between Frosinone and Salernitana
In the second half, Frosinone played subdued and limited themselves to managing the game. The amaranto tried to reopen the match but saw a goal cancelled out by Ikwuemesi. In the final, newcomer Iron Gomis wasted a great chance. In the 85th minute, Frosinone closed the game definitively with the third goal: Brescianini served Zortea, who placed the ball in the corner.
With this victory, Frosinone reached 31 points and flew to +3 on Udinese. Salernitana, on the other hand, with only 15 points and two wins in 34 matches, were officially relegated to Serie B. A disastrous year for the Campani, who are preparing for a revolution both on and off the pitch, with possible changes on the bench and in the squad.
