Winning to erase the half-hearted misstep against Genoa, that was Inter and Simone Inzaghi’s goal for the season opener at the San Siro.
However, the Nerazzurri, orphaned by Lautaro Martinez, were able to count on Taremi, who had already entered the team’s schemes and was able to send Darmian into the net with a delightful header: “Taremi is integrating very well. Tonight he played an inconspicuous match, but he fought and was always at the service of the team”.
Inter rediscover the defensive phase
The Nerazzurri showed solid play and created several chances, maintaining control of the game and demonstrating the defensive solidity seen last season.
In the second half, the Nerazzurri continued to press on the accelerator, especially with Marcus Thuram skilful in earning the penalty converted by Calhanoglu, now at 16 consecutive goals from the penalty spot.
A positive result above all, in view of next Friday’s match when Gasperini’s Atalanta will arrive at the San Siro; a challenge that will taste of the Scudetto and in which, Simone will have the chance to play the Zielinski card.
Remaining on the bench, the former Napoli midfielder could be a surprise move to deploy against the Dea.
Simone’s satisfaction.
After the victory against Lecce, Inzaghi expressed his opinion on the match: “The boys did well because playing in this heat is very difficult. Hunger is always needed, but it’s enough to stay calm because the boys are training well”.
And finally on Lautaro: “I don’t know if he’ll make it for the next game. Now we’ll try to get him back for Atalanta. For sure, the captain will want to be there, but with a Taremi like that and an extra Zielinski there won’t be any problems”.
