Mehdi Taremi cambia ancora casacca. Dopo l'esperienza in Grecia, l'attaccante iraniano è ufficialmente un nuovo giocatore dell'Al-Wasl, club della Premier League emiratina. Per lui è la terza maglia diversa nelle ultime tre stagioni, dopo l'anno all'Inter e quello all'Olympiacos.
Un anno in Grecia da protagonista
A Il Pireo, Taremi aveva lasciato il segno: 39 presenze, 16 gol e 6 assist nell'ultima stagione, oltre a un contributo importante nella conquista della Supercoppa greca. Numeri lontani anni luce da quelli visti a Milano, dove in nerazzurro il suo impatto era stato tutt'altro che memorabile.
Sfumata la Serie A
Il retroscena più curioso riguarda proprio l'Italia. Sassuolo e Genoa avevano bussato alla sua porta, segno che la stima nei suoi confronti non si era del tutto affievolita nonostante la stagione opaca in nerazzurro. Ma alla fine a pesare sono state le condizioni economiche messe sul piatto dagli Emirati, decisamente più vantaggiose rispetto a quanto offerto dai club di Serie A.
La priorità era restare in Europa
Taremi avrebbe preferito rimanere ad alto livello nel Vecchio Continente, magari con un occhio alla Champions League, competizione che conosce bene. Si era parlato anche di una permanenza all'Olympiacos, ma le condizioni proposte dal club greco non lo avevano convinto fino in fondo. Da lì la scelta di aprirsi ad altre soluzioni, fino all'approdo a Dubai.

L'agente Federico Pastorello ha annunciato l'operazione sui social con toni entusiasti, parlando di una nuova sfida per il suo assistito. Taremi vestirà la maglia numero 9 e ritroverà nel nuovo club compagni come il portiere francese Yann Llahona e il difensore brasiliano Adryelson. L'Al-Wasl arriva da un ottimo avvio di stagione, con due vittorie nelle prime due giornate di UAE Pro League, e il classe '92 sbarca in un ambiente già in fiducia.
