The Under-23 side suffered a disappointing 2-1 defeat against Savoia, halting their momentum following the recent competition break. In a storyline reminiscent of the senior squad's recent struggles, the young outfit found themselves trailing by two goals early in the clash, facing an uphill battle almost from the opening whistle.
Savoia capitalized swiftly on defensive lapses to establish a commanding two-goal cushion, executing their game plan with ruthless efficiency. Despite tactical adjustments and an increased intensity across the pitch, Stefano Vecchi's squad struggled to break down a well-organized opponent that protected its advantage with great determination and discipline.
The Under-23s managed to mount a spirited reaction after the restart, eventually halving the deficit to ignite hopes of a dramatic late comeback. However, their desperate siege in the final minutes proved insufficient to salvage a point, as Savoia's backline held firm under heavy pressure to preserve the victory.
This setback leaves plenty of room for reflection as the team prepares for the next phase of the campaign. Vecchi and his coaching staff will now focus on addressing early lapses in concentration and reinforcing defensive solidity to ensure an immediate bounce-back in their upcoming league fixtures.
