Il presidente nerazzurro Giuseppe Marotta, a pochi giorni dalla fine di una stagione straordinaria, torna a parlare e lo fa toccando diversi argomenti. Il numero uno di Viale della Liberazione ha parlato dell'Inter, passato, presente e futuro ma ha raccontato anche qualche retroscena e qual è il suo nuovo sogno.
Dopo il doblete, il sogno Europa
Dopo essere riuscito a centrare l'obiettivo dello scudetto, ora il presidente pensa alla Champions League: "Spero davvero di riuscire a sollevarla prima di ritirarmi. Con l'Inter l'obiettivo per la prossima stagione è fare qualcosa in Europa. Vogliamo tornare in finale per la terza volta, spero davvero che i giocatori mi regalino questo trofeo dopo aver perso 4 finali (2 delle quali contro la Juve)."
Dopo la storica doppietta all'Inter non c'è voglia di fermarsi ma anzi l'obiettivo è fare sempre qualcosa di più senza diventare arroganti: "I sogni si realizzano, poi bisogna avere la capacità di crearne di nuovi. In Europa vorremmo realizzare qualcosa l'anno prossimo. I sogni sono anche obiettivi. Nello sport e nel calcio non bisogna essere arroganti che è un difetto ma ambizioso, alzare l'asticella per traguardi più importanti. L'anno prossimo la alzeremo ancora di più".
Ripartire dalle certezze
La Beneamata vuole quindi continuare sulla strada tracciata e regalarsi ancora tante soddisfazioni. Per farlo partiremo dal nucleo centrale nerazzurro, da giocatori che fanno parte della rosa ormai da diversi anni come Barella, Bastoni e Lautaro e soprattutto da Cristian Chivu.
Chivu, la scommessa vinta
Lo stagista promosso a pieni voti, l'allenatore inesperto che gli ha dato del filo da torcere e ha messo alle spalle allenatori di grande esperienza. La dirigenza ha creduto in lui dal primo momento, gli ha affidato una squadra che per molti era finita e lui, con lavoro e determinazione, l'ha trasformata e portata dove doveva essere, sopra tutte le altre. Ora per il tecnico è pronto il rinnovo con adattamento, un riconoscimento necessario dopo un anno straordinario come dichiarato da Marotta: "Il rinnovo è un atto formale, non è un aspetto prioritario rispetto al programma che ci aspetta. Ha un contratto, lo prolungheremo perché è giusto prolungarlo. Ha dimostrato di non solo essere all'altezza, ma di essere uno degli allenatori emergenti a livello nazionale. È giusto che abbia un premio da parte della società".
Per poi spiegare ancora una volta la scelta fatta dal club ormai quasi un anno fa: "Molti critici dicevano di Chivu che saremmo stati fortunati in caso di un buon risultato ma quando abbiamo deciso di puntare su di lui, lo abbiamo fatto con grande consapevolezza e con quel coraggio, quel rischio che fa parte dell'essere un allenatore. Assumendoci la responsabilità. Era il profilo giusto, la società lo ha sostenuto. Gli mancava esperienza, oggi è già molto meglio".
Una scelta compiuta dopo la separazione con Simone Inzaghi, avvenuta all'indomani della pesante sconfitta in finale di Champions League e che ha spinto la dirigenza a puntare subito sull'eroe del Triplete.
Bastoni patrimonio nerazzurro. Marotta:"Penso che starà con noi ancora”
Tra i protagonisti continuerà a figurare anche Alessandro Bastoni che "è patrimonio dell'Inter e del calcio italiano e veste degnamente la maglia azzurra". Nonostante le varie voci che lo hanno visto più volte legato al Barcellona, per lui il futuro sarà molto probabilmente all'ombra della Madonnina, pochi dubbi per il presidente nerazzurro: "Non siamo venditori per principio. Se un giocatore va via è perché anche lui ha espresso la volontà di partire. Devo dire che Bastoni non ha assolutamente espresso la volontà di partire. Lui si trova bene qui con noi, quindi non abbiamo bisogno di venderlo. Credo che resterà ancora con noi".
Dall'addio alla Juve a Lukaku
Non solo Inter, il presidente nerazzurro ha parlato diffusamente anche di altri argomenti, a partire dall'addio alla Juve che secondo lui è stato dettato dalla volontà del club di ringiovanire la dirigenza di Lukaku, nome ormai al centro di diverse indiscrezioni e sul quale afferma: "È triste vederlo così, lo abbiamo perso di vista. È nelle sue caratteristiche, nel suo carattere, aveva promesso anche a noi che sarebbe tornato e non è mai tornato. Fa parte dei limiti dell'umano". essere: si può decidere di sposarlo oppure di non sposarlo."
Marotta e dove si vede in futuro
Marotta si è soffermato anche su quello che sarà il suo futuro una volta terminato il rapporto con il club nerazzurro: "Chiuso questo capitolo vorrei restare nello sport quasi per debito di gratitudine: ho ricevuto tanto dagli altri. In un ruolo tecnico, visto che c'è bisogno di esperienza. Lo voglio soprattutto nei confronti dei giovani che hanno bisogno di essere accompagnati".

Lo sguardo di Marotta, però, resta inevitabilmente concentrato sul presente e sul futuro dell'Inter. Perché se da un lato il presidente nerazzurro immagina un futuro ancora nello sport, dall'altro il suo pensiero è già proiettato alla prossima stagione e alle nuove sfide da affrontare, con un messaggio chiaro: l'Inter non si accontenta. Dopo aver conquistato il double in Italia, lo sguardo è ora rivolto all'Europa. Il sogno Champions League è la nuova missione da perseguire, con Chivu chiamato a guidare un gruppo che ripartirà dalle proprie certezze. E tra questi c'è anche Bastoni, destinato a restare uno dei simboli di un'Inter che vuole continuare a vincere.

In sport and football you don't have to be arrogant which is a flaw but ambitious, raise the bar for more important goals. Next year we will raise it even more".
Ripartire dalle certezze
