La Juventus cambia obiettivo, accelera e prova a chiudere uno degli ultimi colpi del proprio mercato. Dopo il mancato arrivo di Franck Kessié, che ha scelto di tornare all’Atalanta, la dirigenza bianconera ha virato con decisione su Pape Matar Sarr, centrocampista senegalese classe 2002 del Tottenham.
Una trattativa nata e sviluppata molto velocemente, favorita anche dalla volontà del giocatore di lasciare Londra per trovare maggiore continuità. I bianconeri si sono immediatamente inseriti e l’operazione è rapidamente entrata nel vivo.
L’accelerazione del club torinese può essere letta anche alla luce delle condizioni fisiche di Khéphren Thuram, alle prese con un problema al ginocchio che continua a essere monitorato. Al momento non è il caso di parlare di allarme, ma qualche dubbio sui tempi necessari per ritrovare il francese al 100% inevitabilmente esiste. Un motivo in più per consegnare a Spalletti un’altra soluzione di livello in mezzo al campo.
Juve-Sarr, operazione da 28 milioni
La formula individuata rappresenta un compromesso tra le esigenze economiche della Juventus e quelle del Tottenham.
La proposta bianconera prevede un prestito oneroso da 2 milioni di euro, accompagnato da un riscatto fissato a 26 milioni. L'acquisto definitivo diventerebbe obbligatorio al verificarsi di alcune condizioni, legate principalmente alla qualificazione della Juventus alla prossima Champions League e al raggiungimento di un determinato numero di presenze da parte del centrocampista.
Il costo complessivo potrebbe quindi raggiungere i 28 milioni di euro, una valutazione importante ma coerente con l'età e l'esperienza internazionale del giocatore.
Per quanto riguarda l'ingaggio, non sono ancora emerse cifre ufficiali relative al futuro contratto con la Juventus. Al Tottenham Sarr percepisce, secondo le stime disponibili, circa 70 mila sterline lorde alla settimana, equivalenti a circa 3,6 milioni di sterline lorde all'anno di parte fissa, ai quali possono aggiungersi eventuali bonus.
Sarr, un predestinato dai record precoci
La storia calcistica di Sarr comincia a Dakar nella Generation Foot, la stessa accademia dalla quale sono usciti talenti come Sadio Mané e Ismaila Sarr. Pape Matar brucia subito le tappe: debutta in prima squadra ad appena 15 anni e a 18 sbarca in Francia, imponendosi rapidamente con il Metz.
In Ligue 1 diventa il più giovane calciatore a segnare in due partite consecutive dai tempi di Kylian Mbappé. Il suo talento fa partire inevitabilmente paragoni importanti: il suo ex allenatore Oliver Perrin lo accosta a Miralem Pjanic, mentre Khalilou Fadiga vede in lui caratteristiche che ricordano Patrick Vieira.
A 18 anni arriva anche l'esordio con il Senegal e poco dopo Fabio Paratici decide di anticipare la concorrenza di Chelsea, Manchester United e Manchester City, portandolo al Tottenham con un investimento importante. In Premier Sarr completa la propria crescita, trasformandosi progressivamente in un centrocampista box to box, capace di abbinare fisicità, corsa e qualità.
Non è Kessié: e forse per Spalletti è meglio così
Sarr arriva come alternativa a Kessié, ma sarebbe sbagliato considerarlo semplicemente la copia più giovane dell'ivoriano.
Il senegalese ha caratteristiche differenti.
È un centrocampista che ama recuperare palla e portarla immediatamente in avanti, attaccando lo spazio attraverso la corsa. Ha leve lunghe, buona capacità di pressione e soprattutto una caratteristica particolarmente interessante per il calcio di Spalletti: riesce a guadagnare metri senza necessariamente affidarsi al passaggio.
In una squadra che vuole controllare il pallone ma allo stesso tempo accelerare improvvisamente, questa qualità può diventare fondamentale.
Dove può giocare nella Juve di Spalletti
È probabilmente questo l'aspetto più interessante dell'operazione.
Spalletti ha lavorato durante l'estate su un centrocampo con due mediani di qualità, utilizzando Locatelli come riferimento e cercando al suo fianco un giocatore capace di aumentare ritmo, pressione e capacità di avanzamento.
In un ipotetico 4-2-3-1, potrebbe giocare accanto a Locatelli: il capitano maggiormente impegnato nella costruzione, il senegalese libero di rompere la linea avversaria attraverso inserimenti e conduzioni.
Ma può essere utilizzato anche da mezzala in un 4-3-3, probabilmente il ruolo nel quale le sue caratteristiche possono emergere maggiormente. In questo caso avrebbe maggiore libertà di attaccare l'area, pressare in avanti e sfruttare la propria capacità di coprire rapidamente grandi porzioni di campo.
C'è poi la possibilità di considerarlo un'alternativa a Khéphren Thuram. E proprio l'incertezza sulle condizioni fisiche del francese rende ancora più comprensibile la scelta della Juventus di aggiungere un centrocampista con queste caratteristiche alla rosa.
Un investimento che guarda anche al futuro
Spendere potenzialmente 28 milioni per Sarr non rappresenta certamente un'operazione a basso costo, ma la Juventus acquisterebbe un centrocampista ancora giovane, già abituato alla Premier League e alle competizioni internazionali.
Soprattutto, consegnerebbe a Spalletti un giocatore con caratteristiche che oggi non abbondano nella rosa bianconera.
Il ragazzo può recuperare palloni, correre, inserirsi, accompagnare l'azione e soprattutto spezzare le linee avversarie attraverso la progressione. Non è un regista e probabilmente non lo diventerà mai. Ma potrebbe essere proprio il centrocampista capace di mettere insieme le due anime che Spalletti cerca nella sua squadra: qualità e intensità.
Dopo la delusione Kessié, la Vecchia Signora ha reagito rapidamente. E quello che inizialmente sembrava soltanto un piano B potrebbe trasformarsi in un investimento decisamente più interessante in prospettiva.
