Inter Women delivered the emphatic response they desperately needed on Sunday afternoon, cruising to a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Lazio at the Arena Civica. Coming off a painful 6-0 defeat at the hands of Lyon in European competition, the Nerazzurre entered the match under scrutiny and answered their critics in the most convincing fashion possible.
From the opening whistle, Gianpiero Piovani's side showed hunger and determination, taking full control of the tempo and pinning the Biancocelesti back in their defensive third. The team's clinical finishing and aggressive pressing allowed them to effectively put the contest out of reach early, restoring the positive rhythm that has characterized their domestic campaign.
Defensively, the Milanese outfit looked solid and composed, rarely allowing Lazio any clear-cut opportunities to launch a comeback. The clean sheet will provide a significant psychological boost for the backline, repairing the damage done by the midweek continental setback and re-establishing defensive cohesion across all departments.
With three vital points secured in style, attention now turns immediately to the highly anticipated Derby della Madonnina against AC Milan. The convincing performance against Lazio ensures that Inter will head into the cross-city showdown with restored confidence, ready to battle for both local bragging rights and valuable position in the league standings.
