Piove sul bagnato in casa Juventus. Luciano Spalletti rischia di perdere per un lungo periodo anche Manuel Locatelli, uscito malconcio dalla sfida contro il Milan e alle prese con un problema al menisco del ginocchio destro.
Il capitano bianconero aveva stretto i denti rimanendo in campo fino al termine dell’1-1 dell’Allianz Stadium, ma nelle ore successive il dolore è aumentato e gli accertamenti hanno fatto scattare l’allarme. L’ipotesi dell’intervento chirurgico è diventata concreta e il regista si trova a Lione per una valutazione specialistica.
A questo punto saranno soprattutto tipo di lesione e tecnica chirurgica a determinare i tempi. Le prime indiscrezioni avevano fatto immaginare un’assenza nell’ordine di alcune settimane, ma lo scenario più prudente è decisamente peggiore: qualora si procedesse con una sutura del menisco, il recupero potrebbe richiedere circa tre mesi.
La Juventus ha perso il suo equilibrio
Locatelli non è semplicemente uno dei centrocampisti della Juventus. È il capitano, il riferimento davanti alla difesa e l'uomo attraverso il quale passa gran parte della costruzione bianconera.
E soprattutto il suo problema arriva nel momento peggiore.
La Juventus ha affrontato il Milan con ben sette indisponibili. Khéphren Thuram è reduce dall’intervento al ginocchio e non dovrebbe tornare prima del 2027, mentre McKennie è stato frenato da un problema muscolare e il nuovo arrivato Pape Matar Sarr deve ancora recuperare la migliore condizione. A questi si aggiungono le altre assenze che hanno ridotto notevolmente le possibilità di scelta di Spalletti.
Da una situazione di abbondanza estiva, insomma, i bianconeri sono passati improvvisamente ad una vera emergenza.
Ed è qui che il mercato degli svincolati può diventare interessante.
Torna Brozo: una tentazione che viene da lontano
Il nome inevitabilmente tornato a circolare è quello di Marcelo Brozovic.
Non sarebbe neppure una pista completamente nuova. Già durante il mercato estivo il croato era stato accostato alla Juventus dopo la conclusione della sua esperienza con l’Al-Nassr. La sua agenzia aveva cercato contatti con la dirigenza bianconera, anche se in quel momento da Torino non erano arrivati segnali particolarmente convinti.
Adesso, però, lo scenario è cambiato.
Con Locatelli fuori e Thuram indisponibile a lungo, Brozovic rappresenterebbe tecnicamente una soluzione quasi naturale. È un regista puro, conosce perfettamente la Serie A, possiede personalità internazionale e soprattutto potrebbe essere ingaggiato anche a mercato chiuso essendo svincolato.
C'è poi un particolare tutt'altro che secondario: Spalletti conosce benissimo Brozo. Fu proprio il tecnico toscano, durante l’esperienza all’Inter, a valorizzarlo definitivamente davanti alla difesa trasformandolo in uno dei migliori interpreti del ruolo.

Il vero muro, inevitabilmente, è economico.
Le richieste attribuite a Brozovic restano molto elevate. Le ultime indiscrezioni parlano di una base intorno ai 6 milioni di euro netti a stagione, cifra che rende qualsiasi operazione estremamente impegnativa. Anche la Lazio ha effettuato valutazioni sul croato, ma proprio le pretese economiche, indicate in 6 milioni netti più un bonus alla firma, hanno raffreddato la pista.
Non sarebbe peraltro una cifra sorprendente per l'ex nerazzurro: già nell’ultima fase della sua esperienza interista il centrocampista percepiva circa 6 milioni netti a stagione, più bonus.
L'eventuale richiesta di un accordo pluriennale renderebbe l'investimento ancora più pesante per un giocatore che a novembre compirà 34 anni.
Ed è proprio questo il ragionamento che dovrà fare la Juventus: quanto costa l'emergenza?
Spalletti aspetta, la “Vecchia Signora” riflette
Dal punto di vista tecnico ci sarebbero pochi dubbi. Brozovic potrebbe entrare immediatamente nel cuore del centrocampo juventino, permettendo a Spalletti di avere un giocatore capace di dettare i tempi, uscire dalla pressione e dare ordine alla squadra.
Dal punto di vista economico, invece, la questione è completamente diversa.
I bianconeri difficilmente accetteranno senza trattare una richiesta da 6 milioni netti a stagione. Servirebbe probabilmente un passo importante da parte del croato, magari attraverso una riduzione dell’ingaggio o una formula contrattuale maggiormente legata ai bonus.
Locatelli si ferma, il centrocampo di Spalletti perde il proprio comandante e la Juventus deve decidere se aspettare o intervenire. E in una Continassa improvvisamente a corto di registi, il nome di Marcelo Brozovic torna a fare parecchio rumore.

With Locatelli out and Thuram unavailable for a long time, Brozovic would technically represent an almost natural solution. He is a pure director, he knows Serie A perfectly, he has an international personality and above all he could be signed even when the transfer market is closed as he is a free agent.
Then there is a detail that is anything but secondary: Spalletti knows Brozo very well. It was the Tuscan coach himself, during his experience at Inter, who definitively enhanced him in front of the defense, transforming him into one of the best interpreters of the role.

Furthermore, it would not be a surprising figure for the former Nerazzurri player: already in the last phase of his Inter experience the midfielder received around 6 million net per season, plus bonuses.
The possible request for a multi-year agreement would make the investment even heavier for a player who will turn 34 in November.
And this is precisely the reasoning that Juventus will have to do: how much does the emergency cost?

From a technical point of view there would be few doubts. Brozovic could immediately enter the heart of the Juventus midfield, allowing Spalletti to have a player capable of dictating tempo, getting out of pressure and giving order to the team.
From an economic point of view, however, the question is completely different.
The Bianconeri are unlikely to accept without negotiating a request worth 6 million net per season. An important step from the Croatian would probably be needed, perhaps through a reduction in salary or a contractual formula more linked to bonuses.
Locatelli stops, Spalletti's midfield loses its commander and Juventus has to decide whether to wait or intervene. And in a Continassa suddenly short of directors, the name of Marcelo Brozovic returns to make a lot of noise.
