Ci sono stadi che appartengono alla storia di una squadra anche se si trovano a migliaia di chilometri da casa. Per l’Inter uno di questi è inevitabilmente il Santiago Bernabéu.
E il destino ha deciso di riportare i nerazzurri proprio lì per aprire la nuova Champions League.
Real Madrid-Inter, martedì 8 settembre alle 21, non sarà soltanto la prima giornata della League Phase. Sarà un concentrato di ricordi, suggestioni e incroci quasi cinematografici. Da una parte José Mourinho, tornato sulla panchina del Real Madrid; dall’altra Cristian Chivu, oggi allenatore dell’Inter e sedici anni fa uno degli uomini dello Special One.
E poi c'è quel luogo. 22 maggio 2010. Inter-Bayern Monaco, finale di Champions League. La doppietta di Diego Milito, Javier Zanetti che alza la Coppa e Mourinho che completa l'impresa del Triplete prima di salutare l'Inter e iniziare proprio la sua avventura al Real Madrid.
In quella formazione c'era anche Chivu. Stavolta entrerà nello stesso stadio da allenatore nerazzurro e troverà dall'altra parte il tecnico con cui raggiunse il punto più alto della propria carriera da calciatore.
Mourinho contro l’Inter: una partita che per lui non potrà essere normale
Mourinho ha costruito una parte enorme della propria leggenda europea a Milano e il rapporto con il mondo interista non si è mai realmente spezzato.
Il portoghese è tornato a Madrid con una missione chiarissima: riportare il Real sul tetto d'Europa dopo due stagioni senza trofei. Il club gli ha consegnato una squadra ulteriormente rinforzata, con giocatori come Konaté, Cucurella, Bernardo Silva e soprattutto l'ex interista Denzel Dumfries, destinato a vivere a sua volta una serata particolare.
Davanti rimane un potenziale offensivo impressionante: Vinicius e Mbappé, con Bellingham e una quantità enorme di qualità alle loro spalle.
Ma soprattutto tornerà lo Special One delle grandi notti. Difficile immaginare un Real disposto semplicemente a lasciare campo e pallone all'Inter. Più probabile aspettarsi una squadra aggressiva quando ne avrà l'occasione, ma anche capace di abbassarsi, chiudere gli spazi e colpire verticalmente.

L'allenatore dell'Inter arriva a Madrid dopo aver costruito una squadra sempre più legata alle proprie idee. In estate ha chiesto intensità, coraggio e capacità di adattarsi all'avversario, spiegando come il 3-5-2 rappresenti ormai soltanto il punto di partenza di un sistema molto più fluido.
Ed è probabilmente ciò che servirà al Bernabéu.
La squadra del Presidente Marotta non potrà pensare esclusivamente a difendersi. Lasciare costantemente il pallone al Real significherebbe prima o poi concedere qualcosa alla qualità dei suoi campioni. Chivu dovrà invece trovare il coraggio di alzare Barella e compagni, provando a sporcare la costruzione madrilena e soprattutto ad attaccare gli spazi alle spalle dei terzini.

E c'è un altro ex che attirerà inevitabilmente gli sguardi: Dumfries, ora pronto a ritrovare i vecchi compagni con una maglia diversa.

La storia recente non sorride ai nerazzurri. Il Real Madrid ha infatti vinto tutti e quattro gli incontri di Champions contro l'Inter disputati in questo secolo e i nerazzurri non sono riusciti a segnare negli ultimi tre confronti con i Blancos.
Numeri che Chivu proverà a cancellare affidandosi ancora una volta ai suoi uomini più importanti.
Davanti la coppia di riferimento resta quella composta da Lautaro Martinez e Marcus Thuram. La loro capacità di legare il gioco, attaccare la profondità e costringere la difesa madridista a correre verso la propria porta potrebbe rappresentare una delle chiavi per mettere in difficoltà Mourinho.
Fondamentale sarà però il centrocampo. Çalhanoglu dovrà riuscire a dare ordine anche sotto pressione, mentre Barella avrà il compito di aumentare ritmo e aggressività. Sulle corsie Chivu può affidarsi ancora a Diouf, trasformato progressivamente in esterno, mentre Dimarco, infortunio permettendo, rimane una delle principali fonti di gioco e rifinitura.

Secondo le indicazioni della vigilia, Mourinho dovrebbe partire dal 4-2-3-1, mentre Chivu dovrebbe confermare la struttura a tre in fase iniziale, pronta però a modificarsi durante la partita.
