C'è chi passa le giornate a vivisezionare ogni singolo sospiro di spogliatoio per riempire le pagine tra un'asta del fantacalcio e una pubblicità di creme solari. Poi c'è la realtà del campo, o meglio, di quello che in questo luglio infuocato si avvicina di più a un laboratorio a cielo aperto. E la realtà dice che l'Inter sta per imbarcarsi su un volo transoceanico con le valigie piene di interrogativi intriganti, giovani affamati e qualche spigolo ancora da smussare, che atterrerà proprio nelle perla d'oriente. Dimenticate i sedici gol rifilati ai dilettanti dell'Aasen e dimenticate pure la sofferta ma indicativa rimonta tedesca sul Karlsruher. Ora la ricreazione è finita. La truppa nerazzurra parte per Hong Kong prima e per l'Australia poi, infilandosi in un tour tra Asia e Oceania che sa tanto di esame di maturità fuori stagione, in preparazione al primo giorno di scuola targato San Siro contro il Monza il 22 agosto.

Il battesimo del fuoco in terra asiatica ha il sapore amaro e stimolante delle grandi notti europee, anche se giocato all'ora di pranzo italiana. Sabato 1 agosto, con il termometro di Hong Kong che promette tassi di umidità da sauna svedese, l'Inter sbatte contro il Manchester City guidato da Enzo Maresca. Chi sale sull'aereo?
Guardando la lista dei convocati per questo tour transoceanico, si capisce subito dove stia andando a parare la gestione Chivu. C’è chi è rimasto a terra per motivi di mercato o perché palesemente fuori dai piani tecnici - il caso di Kristjan Asllani, ormai separato in casa e messo fuori rosa, fa da padrone - e c’è chi, pur con le valigie mezze pronte come Pavard e Frattesi, è salito sul volo per dare garanzie d'esperienza. Assente anche il francese Yanis Massolin, trattenuto da manovre di mercato imminenti. Ma la vera notizia è l'invasione verde. Il tecnico romeno pesca a mani basse dalla Primavera (i vari Farronato, Iddrissou, Marello, Bovio) i quali mai come quest'anno, potranno inseguire il proprio sogno di esordire in Serie A, e attinge a piene mani dal serbatoio dell'Under 23 lanciata da Stefano Vecchi, portandosi dietro gente come Lavelli, Mosconi e Topalovic.
Occhi puntati su di loro
Il vero motivo per cui vale la pena puntare la sveglia sulle amichevoli australiane, però, sta tutto in due nomi. Il primo è Francesco Pio Esposito: il classe 2005 viaggia con il vento in poppa, galvanizzato dalla cinquina rifilata in Germania e con in tasca un possibile rinnovo di contratto da tre milioni a stagione a un passo dalla firma. Sarà lui il perno attorno a cui ruoterà l'attacco dell'estate, affiancato da Ange-Yoan Bonny. Il secondo nome è una scommessa da visionario: Andy Diouf da esterno destro. Chivu ci sta lavorando con la pervicacia dei tecnici che vedono cose che gli altri non colgono, per far si che possa diventare lui l'erede di Dumfries, almeno per questa preseason. E le prime risposte sul campo gli stanno dando maledettamente ragione: la doppietta da antologia segnata in rimonta contro il Karlsruher porta la firma del francese, che in quella posizione sembra aver trovato una seconda giovinezza tattica. Inoltre la luce è impostata su Benjamin Pavard, campione del Mondo volenteroso di rimanere a sposare la causa dei campionissimi d'Italia, nonostante per la dirigenza rimanga in nome in uscita.
