Dopo settimane di grande confusione e continui cambi di scenario, il Milan è finalmente pronto a mettere insieme i primi tasselli della propria ricostruzione. Sul fronte panchina, infatti, diversi sono i nomi che nelle ultime settimane sono stati avvicinati al club di Via Aldo Rossi ma tanti sono quelli che hanno progressivamente preso altre strade o perso quota nelle gerarchie della dirigenza. Nelle ultime ore, però, un nome su tutti è emerso con forza: quello di Ruben Amorim. La trattativa ha subito una brusca accelerata nelle ultime ore per l'intervento risolutivo di Gerry Cardinale ed è improvvisamente arrivata la sua firma sul contratto. Ha così il via l'era del tecnico portoghese.

L'ex tecnico dello Sporting e del Manchester United è il nome scelto per raccogliere l'eredità di Allegri sulla panchina rossonera. Dopo costanti contatti tra le parti, la trattativa sarebbe giunta alla sua definizione, secondo le indiscrezioni che filtrano dall'ambiente milanista e portoghese, e sarebbe arrivata l'attesa firma sui documenti. Amorim avrebbe dato una totale apertura al progetto Milan, confessando anche a persone a lui vicine la volontà di ripartire proprio da Milano dopo la difficile parentesi inglese conclusa con la separazione dal Manchester United. Negli ultimi giorni il portoghese è diventato il favorito assoluto nella corsa alla panchina rossonera e le parti hanno infine definito ultimi dettagli dell'intesa.
Il tecnico lusitano sente la fiducia del club e si sarebbe detto pronto a raccogliere la sfida. Una sfida sicuramente non semplice, a Milano avrà il compito di risollevare una squadra che viene da due anni di grandissime delusioni.
Pur avendo ricevuto altre proposte negli ultimi mesi, Amorim avrebbe deciso di non approfondirle, convinto che il progetto rossonero rappresenti la soluzione ideale per lui e la sua ripartenza dopo i Red Devils. La candidatura di Amorim ha preso forza e subito una grande accelerata anche per un altro motivo: la sua situazione contrattuale. Dopo la rottura con il Manchester United il tecnico è attualmente libero e non vincolato ad altri club, un elemento che facilita notevolmente la chiusura dell'operazione. L'accordo sarebbe stato concluso sulla base di un contratto triennale: due anni garantiti con opzione per una terza stagione a 3,5 - 4 milioni di euro netti l'anno. Una formula che convince entrambe le parti e che ha portato all'attesa fumata bianca. Il tecnico lusitano, infatti, ha messo la sua firma sul contratto, legandosi con i rossoneri almeno fino a giugno 2028.
Jaissle resta sullo sfondo
E' tramontata così la pista che portava a Matthias Jaissle. Il tecnico tedesco dell'Al-Ahli era un profilo molto apprezzato e sarebbe stato affascinato dalla possibilità di allenare in Serie A e guidare un club come il Milan. La sua posizione però appariva più complicata rispetto a quella di Amorim. Il principale ostacolo era rappresentato dal contratto che lo lega ancora al club saudita, che per liberarlo avrebbe chiesto un indennizzo superiore ai 5-6 milioni di euro.
