Passano i giorni, la fine del mercato si avvicina sempre di più, ma Ruben Amorim non smette di sognare il colpo che potrebbe cambiare la difesa rossonera. Il Milan, al momento, ha mostrato solo interesse nei confronti del giocatore dello Sporting CP, ma l’allenatore ex Manchester United ha fretta di chiudere dato che lo ritiene il profilo ideale per completare la retroguardia, dopo averlo già allenato nel suo periodo in Portogallo. L’operazione, però, non è di quelle semplici. Il difensore ha una clausola di 60 milioni di euro ma lo Sporting è disposto a trattare per cifre non inferiori ai 40 milioni.
Inoltre, il club portoghese ha già venduto una pedina importante della difesa della scorsa stagione, Ousmane Diomande, per circa 40 milioni di euro al Nottingham Forest e, per questo, non ha bisogno di cedere anche Inácio. Dopo aver escluso Fikayo Tomori dal progetto tecnico e con la sempre più probabile non permanenza di Terracciano, Ruben Amorim ha bisogno di almeno un altro colpo per sistemare il pacchetto difensivo e si aspetta che Cardinale faccia un altro sforzo economico per accontentarlo.
Una vita con lo Sporting Cresciuto nelle giovanili della squadra di Lisbona, Inácio è sempre rimasto fedele agli stessi colori. Un percorso iniziato nel 2012 e proseguito attraverso l’U15, l’U17, l’U19 e l’U23, fino all’esordio in prima squadra nel 2020. Il classe 2001 è diventato un pilastro dello Sporting, con cui ha vinto tre campionati portoghesi, e dal 2023 è entrato stabilmente nel giro della nazionale maggiore del Portogallo, centrando anche la convocazione per il recente Mondiale Usa, terminato però con zero presenze.
Attenzionato anche da altre squadre, tra cui il Como di Fabregas, il difensore si distingue per la velocità, il senso di posizione e la duttilità. Non a caso, nel corso della sua carriera, è stato impiegato anche come terzino sinistro o mediano, grazie alla qualità palla al piede sopra la media.
Queste caratteristiche lo hanno consacrato come uno dei centralipiù interessanti del panorama europeo. La sensazione, infatti, è che il portoghese non rimarrà ancora tanto a lungo nello Sporting CP.
Inácio, molto più di un centrale
Con 30 presenze tra campionato e Champions League, Inácio ha rappresentato nuovamente il muro dello Sporting CP, grazie soprattutto alla sua costanza. Inoltre, nella scorsa Liga portoghese ha realizzato 2 gol e 3 assist, a dimostrazione del fatto che si trova a suo agio nello staccarsi dalla difesa per aiutare la squadra negli ultimi metri. La sua rapidità, infatti, gli permette di difendere con tanto spazio alle spalle. Il picco di velocità raggiunto è stato di 34,5 km/h, qualità da esterno che farebbero molto comodo all’assetto tattico di Amorim. Ma non finisce qui.
I dati confermano il suo impatto difensivo: 12 clean sheet totali nelle gare in cui è stato impiegato, una media di 5 palloni recuperati e appena 0,5 dribbling subiti a partita. Una roccia quasi invalicabile che potrebbe diventare il perno centrale della retroguardia rossonera. Sono, quindi, ore di riflessione in casa Milan. Il club, oltre a voler aggiungere valore alla rosa del nuovo tecnico, deve concentrarsi anche sulle operazioni in uscita, dove la situazione appare al momento piuttosto complicata.
Una difesa da sistemare
La fase difensiva del Milan ha rappresentato, negli ultimi anni, uno dei problemi principali. Troppi gol subiti, troppe distrazioni e errori banali che spesso sono costati punti pesanti ai diavoli. I numeri ne sono la testimonianza principale: a partire dalla stagione 2023/2024, solo in Serie A i rossoneri hanno subito 127 gol. Dati assolutamente da rivedere se si vuole tornare grandi.
Neanche lo stratega Allegri è riuscito ad aggiustare una retroguardia che sembra quasi impossibile da sistemare. Durante la prima parte del campionato, tra meriti e qualche episodio fortunato, sembrava che Max fosse riuscito a trovare la quadra. Poi, però, sfumato il sogno scudetto e con la qualificazione alla prossima Champions League quasi al sicuro, la squadra del tecnico livornese si è sfaldata progressivamente. La Caporetto dei diavoli è arrivata proprio nell’ultima partita casalinga contro il Cagliari, terminata con una sconfitta che ha portato all’inevitabile rivoluzione che il club sta attraversando in questo momento.
Spetta ora al nuovo allenatore, Ruben Amorim, trovare la soluzione, anche se dal precampionato non è emerso nulla di rassicurante per i tifosi rossoneri. Ed è proprio per questo che il nome di Goncalo Inácio resta in cima alla lista dei diavoli: il profilo individuato da Amorim per dare nuove certezze alla difesa del Milan.
