Giovedì 10 settembre, alle 21, il Giuseppe Sinigaglia ospiterà per la prima volta una partita di Champions League. Non sarà soltanto l'esordio del Como nella massima competizione continentale: sarà la prima partita europea in assoluto nella storia del club. Un salto impressionante per una società che soltanto pochi anni fa frequentava categorie lontanissime dal grande calcio e che nella scorsa stagione, con il quarto posto in Serie A, ha completato una scalata quasi irripetibile.
E l'atmosfera racconta perfettamente ciò che sta accadendo. Il Sinigaglia è tutto esaurito, la città vive da giorni l'attesa dell'inno della Champions e, secondo ANSA, il presidente Mirwan Suwarso e alcuni dirigenti hanno persino manifestato la disponibilità a lasciare il proprio posto a quei tifosi storici che hanno accompagnato il Como durante la lunga risalita attraverso le categorie.
Perché questa, prima ancora che la notte di una squadra, è la notte di un'intera città.
Fabregas non vuole cambiare il suo Como
Il pericolo più grande sarebbe pensare che, davanti alla Champions, il Como debba improvvisamente diventare un'altra squadra.
Cesc Fabregas non sembra avere alcuna intenzione di farlo.
Il tecnico spagnolo conosce perfettamente questa competizione: da calciatore ha disputato oltre cento partite in questa competizione. Adesso la affronta dalla panchina con una squadra costruita attorno a principi ormai riconoscibili: possesso, aggressività, pressione alta, qualità tecnica e soprattutto coraggio.
Il Club Lariano arriva inoltre all'incontro nelle migliori condizioni psicologiche possibili. Il 4-1 ottenuto sul campo del Genoa, con Diao protagonista con una doppietta, ha confermato l'eccellente momento della squadra. Prima erano arrivati anche il successo sul Napoli e il pareggio contro l'Udinese.
In Champions, però, cambierà inevitabilmente qualcosa. Cambieranno il ritmo, la pressione e soprattutto la capacità degli avversari di punire ogni minimo errore.
Ed è qui che inizieremo a capire quanto sia realmente grande questo Como.
Nico Paz, Diao e Baturina: il talento non manca
La sensazione è che Fabregas voglia affrontare il Lipsia con il consueto 4-2-3-1, affidandosi soprattutto alla qualità della propria trequarti.
Davanti a Butez dovrebbero esserci Yan Couto, Jacobo Ramón, Chalobah e Álex Valle. In mezzo al campo Perrone e Da Cunha sono al momento favoriti, anche se resta da seguire la candidatura di Luis Milla, giocatore che potrebbe garantire maggiore esperienza e gestione del pallone in una partita inevitabilmente particolare.
Poi arriva il reparto che probabilmente incuriosisce maggiormente.
Assane Diao, Nico Paz e Martin Baturina dovrebbero muoversi alle spalle della punta. Tre giocatori tecnici, giovani, capaci di cambiare posizione e soprattutto di creare superiorità tra le linee.
Gli occhi saranno inevitabilmente puntati su Nico Paz, uno dei simboli della crescita del Como. Dopo i 12 gol e 7 assist realizzati nella scorsa Serie A, il talento argentino è chiamato adesso a misurarsi stabilmente con il livello più alto del calcio europeo.
Douvikas o Kean, il grande dubbio di Fabregas
Il vero ballottaggio riguarda l'attacco.
Le indicazioni UEFA vedono ancora Anastasios Douvikas favorito per partire dal primo minuto. Il greco viene da una stagione da 14 reti in campionato e ha cominciato bene anche quella nuova.
Ma attenzione a Moise Kean.
L'ultimo grande colpo del mercato lariano è già stato inserito nella lista Champions e possiede un'esperienza internazionale superiore rispetto a diversi compagni. Le ultime notizie non escludono addirittura che il mister possa lanciarlo immediatamente dal primo minuto proprio per sfruttarne fisicità, profondità ed esperienza europea.
Al momento Douvikas conserva un leggero vantaggio, ma sarà probabilmente uno degli ultimi dubbi sciolti dall'allenatore.
Lipsia, esperienza e talento: attenzione a Nkunku
Dall'altra parte non arriverà certamente una squadra disposta a partecipare alla festa.
Il Lipsia conosce molto meglio questo palcoscenico: quella 2026/27 sarà la sua ottava partecipazione alla Champions e nel 2020 il club tedesco riuscì addirittura a raggiungere la semifinale.
Martin Demichelis dovrebbe rispondere con un 4-3-3, costruito attorno a una squadra atletica, aggressiva e particolarmente pericolosa quando riesce ad attaccare rapidamente gli spazi.
Il nome da cerchiare è soprattutto quello di Christopher Nkunku, tornato al Lipsia e destinato a rappresentare il principale riferimento offensivo. Accanto a lui possono trovare spazio Bakayoko e Nusa, mentre in mezzo Seiwald ed El Aynaoui dovranno provare a togliere tempo e spazio alla costruzione del Como.
I tedeschi arrivano però in Italia con qualche problema: Baumgartner, Reitz e Rômulo risultano indisponibili, mentre Gruda è in dubbio.
