The seventh day of Serie A, following Napoli’s victory and first breakaway attempt, was marked by extraordinary performances, with Marcus Thuram and Mateo Retegui scoring three goals in their teams’ respective matches.

Marcus’ hat tric allowed Inter to beat Torino 3-2; a match that saw the Piedmontese in a numerical inferiority for more than 70 minutes, but despite being a man down, they had the ability to keep the game open.

Udinese wins against Lecce

First hat trick for Retegui in serie A

At the Gewiss Stadium, Atalanta overwhelmed Genoa 5-1, with Mateo Retegui scoring a spectacular hat-trick. The former Genoa striker scored in the 24th minute, in the 50th minute and on a penalty kick in the 74th minute, also adding an assist for Ederson.

De Roon completed the goleada in the 80th minute, while Ekhator scored the flagship goal for Genoa in the 83rd minute. For Genoa, then, it was a bad moment and, despite the club being for sale but promising investment in the January market, Gilardino’s position was starting to become worrying. For Gasperini instead, a convincing victory and, an attacking department finally back to scoring; the Dea thus rises to 10 points in the classic.
