Inter: Cristian Chivu awarded as best coach of Serie A

The Lega Serie A has proclaimed Christian Chivu as the best coach of the season in Serie A. The Inter coach led the Nerazzurri to the Doblete, winning first the 21st scudetto and then the tenth Italian Cup. In the roll of honor he succeeds Antonio Conte, awarded last year after the season closed with the championship victory on the bench of Napoli. The recognition, established from the 2021-2022 season, has always seen the Italian champion coach triumph: Pioli with Milan in the first edition, Spalletti with Napoli in 2022-23 and Inzaghi with Inter in 2023-24.

Il comunicato della Lega Serie A

"The Philadelphia Coach Of The Season award of the Serie A Enilive 2025/2026 has been awarded to Inter coach Cristian Chivu. The trophy will be awarded during the pre-match of Bologna-Inter, at the “Renato Dall'Ara” stadium in Bologna.

The award was assigned by a jury made up of directors of sports newspapers who evaluated the individual coaches based on technical-sporting criteria and the quality of play expressed by their teams, as well as the behavior/fair play maintained during the matches. For the final calculation, all the matchdays of the Enilive 2025/2026 Serie A were considered (with the exception of matchday 38)".

Chivu nella storia dell'Inter

Inter, with a statement on their official website, commented on Cristian Chivu's victory.

"A first season on the Nerazzurri bench that ends up straight in the history books. Cristian Chivu led Inter to win the twenty-first Scudetto and for his extraordinary work he was awarded Coach of the Season of the 2025/26 Serie A.

A recognition that came thanks to a championship won three days early, in which the Nerazzurri showed impressive offensive numbers and top-level play. A triumph that places the Romanian coach in a special place in Nerazzurri history: only Armando Castellazzi, before Chivu, had managed to win the Scudetto with Inter both as a player and as a coach. The award was assigned by a jury made up of directors of sports newspapers who evaluated the individual coaches based on technical-sporting criteria and the quality of play expressed by their teams, as well as the behaviour/fair play maintained during the matches".

With the two trophies won the coach managed to demonstrate to everyone that he had united the locker room in the best possible way. In Europe the Bodo scrub will always remain, but in Italy it was practically perfect.
