Il portoghese Ruben Amorim, nuovo tecnico del Milan, sta provando a convincere Luka Modric (41 anni a settembre) a far parte del suo organico anche il prossimo anno. Tra i due c’è già stato un colloquio, nel quale l’ex pallone d’oro ha spiegato di essere attualmente concentrato esclusivamente sul Mondiale (ricordiamo che la Croazia, della quale è capitano, affronterà ai sedicesimi di finale il Portogallo di Cristiano Ronaldo nella notte tra giovedì e venerdì). Solo al termine di questa competizione il giocatore comincerà a pensare al suo futuro: innanzitutto dovrà decidere se continuare o meno con il calcio giocato.

Nella passata stagione, la sua prima in rossonero, il croato ha collezionato 37 presenze, di cui 32 da titolare (34 in serie A, 2 in Coppa Italia ed 1 in Supercoppa), per un totale di 2864 minuti giocati. 2 i gol segnati, 1 contro il Bologna, l’altro ai danni del Pisa.
Al di là dei gol, il suo apporto a centrocampo è stato fondamentale per il Milan: ordine, gestione dei ritmi e leadership, con una media di oltre 80 tocchi a partita e il 91% di precisione nei passaggi.
QUALE RUOLO NEL NUOVO MILAN?
Il nuovo Milan di Amorim ha appena messo un primo tassello per la nuova stagione: Gonçalo Ramos, 25 anni, ex attaccante del Paris Saint Germain.
Nel gioco iper-offensivo del nuovo tecnico, che giocherà con un 3-4-3 o un 3-4-2-1 più fluido, Modric avrebbe la stessa resa a centrocampo, affiancato solo da un altro compagno di reparto? Nell’incertezza di chi arriverà e di chi invece lascerà, il Capitano della Croazia manterrebbe sicuramente un ruolo di leadership, ma alla sua età riuscirebbe a reggere in un centro a due?
MILAN O REAL MADRID?
Il contratto firmato dal fuoriclasse croato con il Diavolo è scaduto con la fine del mese di giugno ma prevede un’opzione per il prolungamento fino al 2027. Sarebbe rimasto sicuramente in rossonero se il Milan avesse centrato la qualificazione in Champions League; il finale della scorsa stagione ha invece messo tutto in discussione.
Il Real Madrid, dal canto suo, è pronto ad offrirgli un ruolo di rappresentanza o nella dirigenza, a supporto di Florentino Perez, da sempre suo grande estimatore.
Amorim vorrebbe che Modric disputasse un altro anno al Milan, consapevole dell’importanza del suo contributo tecnico e della sua esperienza nella crescita dei giocatori più giovani. Ogni decisione è rimandata al termine dei Mondiali.
