La stagione del Milan si è conclusa nel peggiore dei modi. Da squadra costruita per lottare per lo Scudetto, i rossoneri hanno chiuso soltanto al quinto posto, rimanendo fuori dalla Champions League e qualificata solo in Europa League. Uno dei problemi principali è stato senza dubbio il reparto offensivo, incapace di garantire continuità e gol durante tutta la stagione. Nemmeno l'arrivo di Niclas Füllkrug dal West Ham nel mercato di gennaio è riuscito a cambiare le cose. L'attaccante tedesco non ha inciso come sperato e il suo periodo in rossonero è stato segnato anche da un rigore fallito, simbolo di una stagione estremamente complicata.
Gimenez verso l'addio
Al momento l'unico vero centravanti di ruolo presente in rosa è Santiago Gimenez, ma il messicano sembra ormai fuori dal progetto tecnico del Milan. Arrivato nel gennaio dello scorso anno per circa 32 milioni di euro, ha collezionato 37 presenze con appena 7 gol e 2 assist, numeri ritenuti insufficienti per guidare l'attacco rossonero. Il suo futuro potrebbe essere lontano da Milano: Lazio e Tottenham stanno monitorando la situazione e potrebbero tentare l'affondo durante il mercato estivo.
Tra rientri e dubbi
Dal 1° luglio tornerà a disposizione anche Álvaro Morata mentre Camarda rimarrà a Lecce. Lo spagnolo, però, non sembra rientrare nei piani del nuovo progetto tecnico e lo stesso giocatore preferirebbe rimanere a Como. Anche Christopher Nkunku, reduce da una stagione con 8 gol (5 dei quali su rigore) e 3 assist in 35 presenze complessive, non ha convinto pienamente. Il francese ha faticato soprattutto nella prima parte dell'anno, collezionando appena 15 presenze da titolare e 17 da subentrato, senza riuscire a diventare il punto di riferimento offensivo della squadra.
Amorim e il nuovo progetto
Con l'arrivo di Rúben Amorim sulla panchina rossonera e quello ormai imminente di Timmo Hardung e Markus Krösche dall'Eintracht Francoforte, il Milan punta a ricostruire il proprio reparto offensivo affidandosi a due dirigenti che negli ultimi anni hanno costruito alcuni dei migliori colpi di mercato del calcio europeo. L'esempio più clamoroso è quello di Omar Marmoush, arrivato a parametro zero dal Wolfsburg e diventato uno dei migliori attaccanti della Bundesliga con 37 gol e 20 assist, prima di essere ceduto per circa 75 milioni di euro. Discorso simile per Randal Kolo Muani, acquistato a parametro zero dal Nantes, autore di 26 gol e 17 assist nella sua unica stagione a Francoforte e poi venduto al Paris Saint-Germain per circa 95 milioni di euro, generando una plusvalenza enorme. L'ultimo capolavoro porta invece il nome di Hugo Ekitiké: arrivato dal Paris Saint-Germain per circa 16,5 milioni di euro, ha chiuso la stagione con 22 gol e 12 assist prima di essere ceduto per circa 95 milioni di euro. Un lavoro di scouting e valorizzazione che il Milan spera ora di replicare anche in rossonero.
Le vecchie piste
Prima dell'addio di Massimiliano Allegri e del precedente assetto dirigenziale formato da Tare e Moncada, il Milan seguiva quattro profili per rinforzare il reparto offensivo: Jean-Philippe Mateta, Moise Kean, Dusan Vlahovic e Serhou Guirassy. Mateta era uno dei primi nomi sulla lista della dirigenza rossonera, ma il suo infortunio ha bloccato definitivamente l'operazione, costringendo il Milan a cambiare obiettivo. Kean rappresentava una soluzione già pronta per la Serie A, mentre Vlahovic sembrava destinato a lasciare la Juventus a causa delle elevate richieste economiche per il rinnovo, anche se l'arrivo di Giovanni Carnevali potrebbe cambiare gli scenari. Guirassy, invece, è stato un pallino del Milan fin dai tempi dello Stoccarda, prima del trasferimento al Borussia Dortmund. Oggi il centravanti sembra vicino al Fenerbahçe, con cui avrebbe già trovato un accordo personale, mentre manca ancora l'intesa definitiva tra i club. Sul giocatore resta vivo anche l'interesse dell'Aston Villa.
L'idea Gakpo
Nelle ultime ore, però, è emerso un nome nuovo: Cody Gakpo. L'olandese del Liverpool non è un centravanti puro, ma negli ultimi mesi è stato impiegato spesso da Arne Slot come falso nove a causa delle assenze nel reparto offensivo, dimostrando di poter ricoprire il ruolo con ottimi risultati. Fisicamente imponente (1,93 m), forte nel gioco aereo e capace di legare il gioco, Gakpo possiede un'ottima tecnica di finalizzazione e una naturale predisposizione a muoversi su tutto il fronte offensivo. I suoi punti di forza sono il movimento senza palla, la capacità di creare spazi e il contributo alla manovra offensiva. Al contrario, non è un classico numero 9 d'area di rigore: soffre il gioco spalle alla porta contro difensori molto fisici e preferisce abbassarsi per partecipare all'azione. Nell'ultima stagione ha collezionato 51 presenze tra campionato, Champions League e coppe nazionali, mettendo a segno 9 gol e 6 assist. Le piste che portano al nuovo nove rossonero sono aperte: a chi toccherà il peso dell'attacco?
