Tra i giocatori che hanno convinto meno c'è Désiré Doué. Il talento del Paris Saint Germain non è riuscito a incidere né contro il Senegal né contro l'Iraq, apparendo poco pericoloso negli ultimi metri e senza lasciare il segno nelle occasioni avute.
SORPRESA – ADRIEN RABIOT
La vera sorpresa di questo avvio di Mondiale è Adrien Rabiot. Il centrocampista ha garantito corsa, ritmo e qualità in entrambe le fasi di gioco, risultando fondamentale negli equilibri della squadra. Da segnalare anche l'assist servito a Barcola contro il Senegal. Le sue prestazioni gli hanno permesso di superare nelle gerarchie giocatori del calibro di N'Golo Kanté e Manu Koné.
La Francia ai Mondiali: storia e numeri
Con 16 partecipazioni alla Coppa del Mondo, la Francia è una delle nazionali più importanti della storia del torneo. I Bleus furono protagonisti già nella prima edizione del 1930 in Uruguay, dove disputarono anche la prima gara della loro storia mondiale battendo il Messico per 4-1. In quell’occasione Lucien Laurent entrò nella leggenda segnando il primo gol della storia dei Mondiali.

Nello stesso torneo arrivò però anche la peggior sconfitta di sempre nella competizione, il 5-2 subito contro il Brasile.
Negli anni Ottanta la Francia di Michel Platini si affermò tra le grandi del calcio mondiale raggiungendo due semifinali consecutive nel 1982 e nel 1986.
