An endless day of celebration. Milan turned black and blue and brought Chivu and his boys to triumph at the end of an extraordinary season. A year that began on an uphill climb, amid doubts and general distrust, but ended in the best possible way, with a historic double destined to remain forever in the memory of the Inter fans.
Dallo scudetto alla Coppa Italia: il cammino verso l’apoteosi

The celebrations had already begun on 3 May, when the victory against Parma at San Siro gave the Beloved team their 21st scudetto. Since then the city has practically never stopped celebrating. Chants, flags, horns and squares invaded by thousands of fans: a Nerazzurri wave that overwhelmed Milan until the day of its apotheosis, May 17th, the date of the last home match of the season and the presentation of the cup in front of their fans.
In between, another extraordinary night. On 13 May Rome also turned black and blue: Lautaro and his teammates had completed the job by winning the tenth Italian Cup in Inter's history, the icing on an already unforgettable season.
It could, and for many, should have been the season of defeat. Instead it became one of revenge, of jubilation, of triumph. A season that silenced rivals and critics. Because if it is true that the previous year had ended without trophies, it is equally true that Inter had nevertheless had the merit of reaching the end in all competitions, demonstrating continuity and ambition at the highest levels.
L’abbraccio di San Siro

And on May 17th all this finally exploded. First the embrace of the stadium, with San Siro the scene of a breathtaking show thanks to an amazing choreography that served as the backdrop for the team's entry onto the pitch. An impressive sight, between flags, cards and the roar of over seventy thousand fans who accompanied every moment of the match, making the players feel all the pride and love of the Nerazzurri people.
Milano invasa dal popolo nerazzurro

Then the party moved to the city. From San Siro to the Duomo, passing through the main streets of the city, Milan has become one huge Nerazzurri procession. Families, children, groups of friends, fans arriving from all over Italy: all united by love for the colors of day and night. The chants dedicated to the protagonists of the season accompanied the team throughout the day, while the players enjoyed a show that was difficult to describe from the bus. However, they did not stay and watch but on the contrary they transformed into real ultras and enlivened the long night even more.
Inter took Milan once again. And he did it with the strength of the group, with the character of someone who has never stopped believing in it and with the hunger of someone who wants to stay at the top. A season built game after game, until the final explosion of joy which reached its peak on May 17th.
La risposta di Marotta a Cardinale

And on the day of the big celebration, Beppe Marotta's response also arrived to the words of Gerry Cardinale, who in the previous days had launched a dig at the Nerazzurri by declaring: "You can't get to the Champions League final and lose 5-0".
The Inter president replied with elegance but without hiding the jab: "I have two answers in my pocket, one ironic and one serious. The serious one is: I wish him to be able to follow the path at Milan that we have done in the last 6 years, i.e. 9 titles, 2 Champions League finals and 1 Europa League final. I'll keep the ironic one for other occasions."
Words that perfectly capture Inter's moment. A company that, beyond individual results, in recent years has been able to build continuity, return permanently among the greats in Europe and once again fill its people with pride. And on May 17th Milan celebrated it as it was right to do: with an endless party.
