Ci sarà la Bielorussia sulla strada della Nazionale Femminile nel primo turno dei play-off mondiali, da giocare in match di andata e ritorno a ottobre con la seconda gara da giocare in Italia. Nel secondo turno, in caso di passaggio, l’ostacolo sarà la vincente dell’incrocio tra Finlandia e Serbia a dicembre. Si è tenuto, infatti, presso la sede della UEFA a Nyon il sorteggio dei play-off mondiali per l’Europa che daranno l’accesso ai Mondiali di Brasile del prossimo anno. La manifestazione, che si terrà dal 24 giugno al 25 luglio 2027, oltre alle già qualificate Danimarca, Germania, Francia e Spagna vedrà altre sette europee sicure in Sud America con l’ottava nazionale che spareggerà con formazioni di altri continenti.
Nazionale Femminile: la strada verso i Mondiali
Per la Nazionale Femminile del CT Andrea Soncin, testa di serie, era sicuro nel primo turno play-off l’accoppiamento con una formazione impiegata nella Lega C, ovvero una tra Ungheria, Grecia, Romania, Bielorussia, Kosovo, Lituania, Croazia e Kazakistan. Nell’eventuale secondo turno, invece, la sicurezza era quella di incontrare una squadra impegnata nella Lega B delle qualificazioni da poco terminate o una delle ultime classificate nei gironi di Lega A.
Gli scontri vedono per le teste di serie i match Lituania-Svezia, Romania-Norvegia, Grecia-Inghilterra, Croazia-Islanda, Kazakistan-Irlanda, Kosovo-Austria, Ungheria-Olanda e Bielorussia-Italia. Dall’altra parte del tabellone incroci Albania-Galles, Turchia-Slovenia, Slovacchia-Ucraina, Israele-Svizzera, Belgio-Polonia, Repubblica Ceca-Scozia, Nord Irlanda-Portogallo e Finlandia-Serbia. Le gare si giocheranno il 9 e il 13 ottobre.
In caso di passaggio del primo turno, poi, per le Azzurre l’ostacolo finale sarà una tra Finlandia e Serbia. Per gli altri pass per il Brasile le gare prevedono Inghilterra o Grecia che affronteranno Slovacchia o Ucraina, Nord Irlanda o Portogallo con una tra Croazia e Islanda, Albania o Galles con una tra Romania e Norvegia. Si continua con Israele o Svizzera con Kosovo o Austria, Repubblica Ceca o Scozia con Lituania o Svezia, Belgio o Polonia con una tra Kazakistan o Irlanda e Turchia o Slovenia con una tra Ungheria o Olanda. Le gare si giocheranno il giorno 1 e 5 dicembre.

Sui sorteggi il CT Andrea Soncin ha dichiarato: “L’obiettivo è davanti a noi e lo vogliamo centrare con tutto noi stesse. C’è massimo rispetto nei confronti della Bielorussia, ma abbiamo un grande sogno e siamo pronte a proseguire il cammino verso il Brasile. Siamo consapevoli che per arrivarci dovremo superare il primo turno e poi confrontarci con una Nazionale, che si tratti di Finlandia o Serbia, che conosciamo molto bene. Il nostro focus però deve essere rivolto solo alla prima avversaria”.

Belarus will be on the path of the Women's National Team in the first round of the world play-offs, to be played in home and away matches in October with the second match to be played in Italy. In the second round, in case of passage, the obstacle will be the winner of the match between Finland and Serbia in December. In fact, the draw for the world play-offs for Europe which will give access to the World Cup in Brazil next year was held at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon. The event, which will be held from 24 June to 25 July 2027, in addition to the already qualified Denmark, Germany, France and Spain, will see seven other European teams secure in South America with the eighth national team playing against teams from other continents.

For the national women's team of coach Andrea Soncin, top seed, in the first play-off round, a pairing with a team used in League C was certain, i.e. one of Hungary, Greece, Romania, Belarus, Kosovo, Lithuania, Croatia and Kazakhstan. In the possible second round, however, the certainty was that of meeting a team involved in League B of the recently concluded qualifiers or one of the last classified in the League A groups.
The clashes see the seedings of Lithuania-Sweden, Romania-Norway, Greece-England, Croatia-Iceland, Kazakhstan-Ireland, Kosovo-Austria, Hungary-Holland and Belarus-Italy. On the other side of the board there are crosses Albania-Wales, Turkey-Slovenia, Slovakia-Ukraine, Israel-Switzerland, Belgium-Poland, Czech Republic-Scotland, Northern Ireland-Portugal and Finland-Serbia. The matches will be played on 9 and 13 October.
In case of passage of the first round, the final obstacle for the Azzurre will be between Finland and Serbia. For the other passes for Brazil the matches include England or Greece facing Slovakia or Ukraine, Northern Ireland or Portugal with one of Croatia and Iceland, Albania or Wales with one of Romania and Norway. We continue with Israel or Switzerland with Kosovo or Austria, Czech Republic or Scotland with Lithuania or Sweden, Belgium or Poland with one of Kazakhstan or Ireland and Turkey or Slovenia with one of Hungary or Holland. The matches will be played on 1 and 5 December.

On the draws, coach Andrea Soncin declared: "The goal is in front of us and we want to achieve it with all our might. There is maximum respect towards Belarus, but we have a big dream and we are ready to continue the journey towards Brazil. We are aware that to get there we will have to get through the first round and then face a national team, be it Finland or Serbia, that we know very well. Our focus, however, must be on the first opponent only."
