"Il gol? Una liberazione". Bastano tre parole per raccontare quello che ha provato Lautaro Martinez dopo essersi finalmente sbloccato ai Mondiali. Il rigore trasformato contro la Giordania nell'ultima giornata del girone J non valeva soltanto il momentaneo 2-0 dell'Argentina, già qualificata, ma soprattutto la fine di un peso che l'attaccante si portava dentro dall'inizio del torneo e anzi ancora prima. Lo si è capito anche dall'esultanza: quel gesto con le mani, come a scrollarsi di dosso tutto il peso accumulato in questi anni, ha detto tutto.
Dopo le prime due gare chiuse a secco, infatti, avevano già ricominciato a circolare i soliti giudizi frettolosi: "Ai Mondiali Lautaro non segna", un’etichetta semplice ma assolutamente riduttiva perchè chi conosce veramente il Toro sa bene che il suo contributo non si misura soltanto con i gol. Parole che riportano inevitabilmente al Qatar 2022. All'esordio contro l'Arabia Saudita Lautaro aveva trovato addirittura due reti, entrambe cancellate dal VAR per fuorigioco millimetrici. Un episodio che lo aveva inevitabilmente segnato dal punto di vista mentale, in un Mondiale vissuto inoltre convivendo con un problema alla caviglia che ne limitò rendimento e continuità.

L'obiettivo è chiaro: essere uno dei grandi protagonisti dell'Argentina nella difesa del titolo mondiale e la rete contro la Giordania potrebbe rappresentare la scintilla giusta per affrontare la fase a eliminazione diretta con ancora più fiducia. Dopo il doblete con la sua Inter il Toro vuole tornare sul tetto del mondo con l’Albiceleste e farlo da grande protagonista.
Se c'è una cosa che la carriera del Toro ha già dimostrato è che le grandi competizioni sa deciderle eccome nonostante troppo spesso venga detto il contrario.
