Il futuro di Matías Soulé appare sempre più lontano dalla Roma. L’esterno argentino è infatti il principale candidato a lasciare Trigoria durante questa sessione estiva di calciomercato, in un momento in cui il club giallorosso è chiamato a raggiungere gli obiettivi economici fissati dal Settlement Agreement con la UEFA e a finanziare la rivoluzione offensiva immaginata da Gian Piero Gasperini. Nonostante le qualità indiscutibili del talento argentino, le sue caratteristiche sembrano adattarsi solo parzialmente alle idee tattiche del nuovo allenatore, motivo per cui una sua cessione viene considerata una possibilità sempre più concreta.
