Il futuro di Benjamin Pavard è ancora tutto da decidere. Tutto, però, lascia pensare che il francese possa lasciare l'Inter nella prossima sessione di mercato. Nonostate la propensione del difensore a vestire nuovamente la maglia nerazzurra dopo il rientro dal Marsiglia (che il calciatore ha già salutato con un lungo post sui social), infatti, la società non sembra propensa a reintegrarlo nel progetto e, d'accordo con Chivu, preferirebbe trovargli una nuova sistemazione. La priorità sarebbe, ovviamente, una soluzione a titolo definitivo, ma al momento, complice l'ingaggio importante di Pavard, appare difficile pensare ad una permanenza a Milano.

Nella valutazione di Pavard della società sembrerebbero aver pesato più che il valore in sé del giocatore o il contributo che potrebbe eventualmente dare alla causa nerazzurra sul campo, le questioni di spogliatoio che secondo quanto riportato la scorsa estate avevano portato il giocatore lontano da Milano e che avevano portato all'arrivo di Akanji. Il rientro dal mondiale per club per un infortunio alla caviglia, a cui avevano seguito le immagini diffuse sui social di una partita a padel, avevano attirato sul giocatore diverse critiche anche dalla tifoseria. Di certo, qualcosa sul finale della passata stagione sembra essersi rapidamente deteriorato con l'ambiente nerazzurro, soprattutto considerando invece l'idillio iniziale, e quel “Benji l'Interista” con cui si era presentato che lo aveva subito portato nelle grazie della tifoseria.

Dopo avere giocato la prima gara di Serie A con la maglia dell'Inter, Pavard si era trasferito al Marsiglia. Con i francesi il difensore ha collezionato 27 presenze, per un totale di 1292 minuti, con 1 gol e 2 assist in Ligue 1. In Champions League ha giocato 538 minuti divisi in 6 partite, mentre al bottino francese sono da aggiungere 173' minuti in 3 gare nella coppa di francia, e 90 minuti nel corso del Trophée des Champions. L'ex Bayern Monaco, dunque, è riuscito a trovare una buona continuità dal punto di vista dei minuti, in una annata senza eccessivi scossoni in un senso né nell'altro. Pavard, come detto, saluta i francesi dopo solo una stagione. L'opzione di riscatto inserita nell'affare che lo ha portato a lasciare Milano non è stata esercitata.
