Si sono concluse le qualificazioni europee al Mondiale di Brasile della prossima estate. Quattro i gruppi di Lega A che mettevano in palio altrettanti posti, riservati alle prime dei rispettivi raggruppamenti, diretti per il Sud America. Restano disponibili altri otto posti tramite i play-off, di cui sette sicuri per le formazioni europee mentre l'ultima sarà costretta agli spareggi intercontinentali.
Calcio Femminile: prime qualificate Danimarca e Germania
I primi a chiudersi nella Lega A si sono giocati i gironi 1 e 4. A prendersi il pass diretto per la qualificazione sono state Germania e Danimarca. Nel gruppo 4 le tedesche, nonostante la sicurezza del primo posto, hanno vinto anche nell’ultima giornata per 0-2 con la Slovenia mentre la Norvegia ha regolato per 2-1 l’Austria. Le tedesche hanno chiuso cosi al primo posto con 16 punti con le norvegesi seconde a 12 mentre più staccata l’Austria a 4 e la Slovenia a 3.
Nel gruppo 1, invece, vola in Brasile la Danimarca. Le danesi erano nettamente le favorite prima degli ultimi 90'. Solo una sconfitta in Serbia, e la contemporanea vittoria dell’Italia in Svezia, poteva togliere il primo posto alle danesi che invece fanno loro il girone battendo la Serbia nell’ultima gara per 1-4.
Succede tutto nel primo tempo con le reti danesi di Fløe al 9′ e Vangsgaard al 14′ mentre la Serbia accorcia le distanze un minuto dopo con Poljak. Harder al 39′ e ancora Vangsgaard al 44′ chiudono però definitivamente i giochi.
Mondiale: anche Francia e Spagna ai Mondiali
Sono scesi in campo, poi, anche i gironi 2 e 3. La Francia ha vinto il raggruppamento 2 strappando la qualificazione per il Brasile. Le transalpine hanno avuto la meglio sull’Irlanda per 1-0 con Malard decisiva al 40′. Le francesi hanno resistito agli assalti finali avversari vista l’inferiorità numerica per l’espulsione inflitta a Samoura al 72′. In classifica al secondo posto finiscono i Paesi Bassi che regolano per 3-1 la Polonia, in rete solo nel finale e che chiude quarta dietro all’Irlanda terza.
Nel gruppo 3, invece, la Spagna ha avuto la meglio nello scontro a distanza con l’Inghilterra. Le spagnole e le inglesi hanno chiuso il girone entrambe con 15 punti ma ad assicurarsi la presenza al Mondiale saranno al momento Putellas e compagne. Inutile il successo per 3-0 delle inglesi sull’Ucraina con Carter, Stanway e Mead a segno. La Spagna vince in trasferta per 1-6 sull’Islanda con doppietta per Vicky López e con le padrone di casa a segno solo sul momentaneo 1-4. Le islandesi chiudono terze e le ucraine quarte. Ora spazio per i play-off con 32 squadre a giocarsi 8 pass utili per i Mondiali.
The European qualifiers for the World Cup in Brazil next summer have concluded. Four Lega A groups were offering as many places up for grabs, reserved for the top teams in their respective groups, heading to South America. Another eight places remain available through the play-offs, of which seven are certain for the European teams while the last one will be forced into the intercontinental play-offs.
Calcio Femminile: prime qualificate Danimarca e Germania
The first to finish in League A were played in groups 1 and 4. Germany and Denmark took the direct pass for qualification. In group 4 the Germans, despite the security of first place, also won on the last day 0-2 against Slovenia while Norway beat Austria 2-1. The Germans thus finished in first place with 16 points with the Norwegians second with 12 while Austria was further behind with 4 and Slovenia with 3.
In group 1, however, Denmark flies to Brazil. The Danes were the clear favorites before the final 90 minutes. Only a defeat in Serbia, and the simultaneous victory of Italy in Sweden, could take away first place from the Danes who instead made it to the group by beating Serbia in the last match 1-4. It all happened in the first half with Danish goals from Fløe in the 9th minute and Vangsgaard in the 14th minute while Serbia closed the gap a minute later with Poljak. Harder in the 39th minute and Vangsgaard again in the 44th minute, however, definitively close the game.
Mondiale: anche Francia e Spagna ai Mondiali
Then, groups 2 and 3 also took the field. France won group 2, gaining qualification for Brazil. The Transalpines got the better of Ireland 1-0 with Malard decisive in the 40th minute. The French team resisted their opponents' final attacks given their numerical inferiority due to the expulsion given to Samoura in the 72nd minute. The Netherlands finished in second place in the standings, beating Poland 3-1, only scoring in the final and finishing fourth behind third-placed Ireland.
In group 3, however, Spain had the better of the long-distance clash with England. The Spanish and English teams both finished the group with 15 points but at the moment it will be Putellas and her teammates who will ensure their presence at the World Cup. The English team's 3-0 success over Ukraine was useless with Carter, Stanway and Mead scoring. Spain won 1-6 away against Iceland with a brace for Vicky López and with the hosts only scoring at the momentary 1-4. The Icelanders finish third and the Ukrainians fourth. Now there is room for the play-offs with 32 teams competing for 8 useful passes to the World Cup.
